I found videos of that maim guy on the warblers from glee, before Disney found him. He was amazing. He adapted fairly difficult musical disney songs on acoustic guitar, played about as well as me, and sang quite a bit better. And he was able to totally get into the song, into character, and act out the songs
then I realized; It’s probably not that hard at all to ‘get into the music industry’ when you’re really good. it’s probably very easy.
What people really mean is that it is VERY difficult to get anywhere in the music world with a C+ skill level. I think many frustrated musician’s perceptions of a complicated system and lousy global response comes from a lack of perspective and a lack of skill.
I truly believe that if I just get really really good at all of the things this guy seems to be good at in his videos, (and do more promotion than hiding in my room) I’ll be found, and get in. and give people more music.
And I plan on doing so.”
—to be honest, I just typed this all into my ‘journal’ app thing, and then decided that it wasn’t ultra-embarrassing or anything. But then what is?
Whats that?
Having a ‘journal’ in the first place?
oh. you’re right. oh well.
Will these questions ever be asked? They are now.
finally realized a large portion of the music I like is made up of RnB. and by that I really mean rhythm n blues. I realize that much of modern pop music comes from from RnB and therefore claims its same name. But just as many derivatives of Rock and Roll found it appropriate to re-brand their own flavor of rock, (such as metal, punk, and alternative rock) the many artists of today need to take that step for their modern rendition ‘RnB’. Until another name is suggested, I’ll suggest RnA. I’m sure many would agree that while rhythm is still very present, any traces of blues are long gone, and auto-tune has become the other staple element. I have tons of fun with this new genre of music, and I actually don’t mean to sound picky or bitter. I just came to this ironic realization and had to share. What do you guys think?

oh yeah.
I guess I’ve been “busy.” Or maybe ”lazy.”
Most likely, it’s been a little of both.
Somewhere between lots of work, lots of starcraft2, lots of guitar, lots of school, and lots of facebook, i haven’t made any time for Tumblr.
I did, however, set up a little myspace account for just my original songs. Basically has all the same music stuff I’ll post here, but more organized. and presentable. (Tumblr will still hear about it first, though, just incase you’re that anxious)
I’m actually quite impressed with how hard myspace is still trying to stay in the game. You think they would just give up by now, but I gotta say, the big UI improvements are helping a little. Now if they could just try to suppress the mass spamming and advertising, they might be back in business.
Well I guess the point is that each leading social network site has found its own little purpose in our lives.
I guess thats why I’m still trying to keep my tumblr alive.
